In Cranfills Gap, Texas, about an hour west of Waco, Taylor Sheridan was born on May 21, 1970. He spent his childhood in an underdeveloped area of West Texas with scant access to contemporary amenities.

Family issues plagued his early years. Sheridan noted in an interview that “where I grew up, my salvation was in the quiet” while remembering those times. In a way, the ranch was young Taylor’s lifeline.

Sheridan was forced to live an indoors-only life at the age of 11 owing to a severe attack of pneumonia that rendered him immobile. With the few movie cassettes he had at his disposal, Sheridan kept himself occupied.

Sheridan and Nicole Muirbrook, an actor and model, have been wed since 2013. The couple has a son. Currently, they are residents of Weatherford, Texas.
