Portuguese soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the best athletes in the world—and with 336 million followers on Instagram, one of the most popular. And now he's returning to his former team, Manchester United. "Everyone who knows me, knows about my never ending love for Manchester United," wrote Ronaldo on Instagram. Ronaldo eats five to six meals a day, according to AS.com. Ronaldo doubles up on both lunch and dinner, and eats one breakfast and a midmorning snack each day. Breakfast is the only meal Ronaldo does not double up on. According to Insider.com, Ronaldo has a favorite meal for breakfast, typically ham and cheese, and low-fat yogurt. Being Portuguese, Ronaldo has a love of fruit juices, and according to Le10Sport, his favorite kinds of juice are apple, pear, and pineapple. In Ronaldo's Men's Health interview, he says he occasionally adds fruit and toast, specifically avocado toast, to his breakfast. 

Ronaldo has a love of fish, and even snacks on it during the day. In an Instagram post, Ronaldo is shown snacking on sardines on toast. Ronaldo also told Four Four Two that he tries to drink plenty of fluids throughout the day. "I stay hydrated with a sports drink that gives me energy for training and matches. It has a mix of carbohydrates that boosts endurance and is lower than many other sports drinks in sugar. It also contains electrolytes to help with hydration and vitamin B12 that fights fatigue." 

For lunch, Ronaldo continues to eat fish, and favors tuna at this time. "I really like fresh fish, and I get a lot of my protein from it," he tells Four Four Two. He also says that he focuses on eating "simple whole foods, like fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains and proteins," as shown in this Instagram post. According to the DailyMail, Ronaldo also likes to eat eggs, chicken, and salads, during lunches as well.

For dinner, Ronaldo continues to eat seafood. According to Business Insider, Ronaldo favors gilt-head bream, swordfish, and sea bass. Ronaldo's seafood heavy diet has a lot of benefits. "According to a review published in the American Journal of Cardiology, fish consumption is associated with a lower risk of fatal and total coronary heart disease. Fish is high in heart-healthy omega-3 fatty acids which can reduce inflammation, help protect your heart, and stave off chronic disease," explains our sister site Eat This, Not That! "The American Heart Association noted that fish is a great source of protein without the high saturated fat content that many other types of meat have. The AHA recommends eating two servings of fish per week, preferably fatty fish, which have a higher omega-3 fatty acid content." In addition, Ronaldo loves steak and salad as a dinner option, according to this Instagram post. When he eats out at restaurants, Ronaldo often orders a steak.
