Nguyn Th Thiên Thanh (born October 24, 1981) is an American television and social media star who goes by the stage names Tila Tequila, Tila Nguyen, Miss Tila, and Tornado Thien.

She rose to fame because of her active participation on social platforms. She was given the star’s role in her TV show after rising to become the most popular on Myspace.

Early Life

Tila Tequila was born in Singapore and raised in Houston, Texas. In 2001, she relocated to Los Angeles to pursue a modeling career.

She has two siblings whose names are Terri Nguyen and Daniel Nguyen.

She made her reality television debut on the VH1 show, Surviving Nugent, after being featured in various men’s publications (including Playboy, Stuff, and Maxim) (2003). Tila Tequila sought a career as a music artist and author and modeling and television.

Friends dubbed Nguyen “Tila Tequila” because of her seeming aversion to drinking. She would later explain in her memoir that she felt “confused” and “lost” as a result of many personal familial and environmental difficulties. In order to express her intense emotions, she began writing poems.

Tila Tequila ran away from home at the age of 16 and spent several months in Queens, New York City. While still 16, she was the victim of a drive-by shooting in Houston. She claims to have gotten pregnant and had a miscarriage the following year.

Education

In the year 2000, Tila Tequila graduated from Alief Hastings High School. Her violent adolescence in Texas was cited as the catalyst for her becoming a model and relocating to California in 2001.

Career

Tila Tequila‘s career began at the age of 19 when she was noticed by a Playboy scout at the Sharpstown Mall and offered the opportunity to appear nude for the magazine. There were a few additional pictorials for the magazine after that.

She later formed Beyond Betty Jean, a band in which she was the lead vocalist and lyricist.

Personal Life

Tila Tequila reportedly consented to enter into treatment on March 7, 2012, after allegedly “nearly dying” after attempted suicide by overdosing on pills. Due to a brain aneurysm, she was hospitalized and treated well. On April 5, 2012, she completed her rehab therapy.

Tila Tequila believes the earth is not a sphere but rather a flat surface. Tornado Thien is her new stage name, which she started adopting in 2018.

Tila Tequila has a daughter whose name is Isabella Monroe Nguyen. She had it with her husband or boyfriend whose name is Thomas Paxton Whitaker.
