Torey, widely known as T.J., is an American volleyball player. He used to play the sports in high school and later went on play four years of college volleyball at California State University, Long Beach.

During his time in LBSU, TJ made it to the NCAA finals all four years (2016-2019) and won the NCAA championship twice.

On top of that, he has been crowned Most Outstanding Player of the 2019 NCAA Championship as well as been named to the NCAA All-Tournament Team three times. He is part of the men’s volleyball team for the Tokyo Olympics 2020.

Defalco is one of the seven siblings. Interestingly, the Defalco children were all homeschooled, and all of their names start with the letter. T.J’s father decided to homeschool his children due to the nature of his job, which led them to relocate often.

The NCAA champion has stated that the flexible timing in homeschooling has favored him for his volleyball career. Even so, he later played volleyball for the Huntington Beach high school.

Likewise, all of the volleyball champion’s siblings have played volleyball, and unlike him, they haven’t played at TJ’s level.

Defalco had an interesting life when he was in Missouri. His family raised exotic animals there, and he grew up around them. He has mentioned that it was sort of like the movie ‘We Bought a Zoo.’
