A man was killed in Irvine early on Saturday morning when he lost control of his car.

Officers responded to reports of a single vehicle collision at the intersection of Barranca Parkway and Vertical at 4:26 on Saturday morning, according to a statement from the Irvine Police Department.

According to early reports, the driver—Tristan Thai Ngo, 20, of Lake Forest—lost control of his maroon Lexus automobile while traveling east on Barranca Parkway.

The Lexus struck four trees, a post, and a fire hydrant before coming to a halt, according to a statement from Irvine Police Department.

At the scene, the victim was pronounced dead by Orange County Fire Authority.
