On 31 December 2019, the United States Attorney for the District of New Jersey applied for an order to unseal the complaint, arrest warrant, and supporting papers regarding the matter. The U.S. magistrate judge James B Clark III signed on the application.

As per the court details, Mark Joseph Pesce, an assistant U.S. attorney, was the plaintiff. 

After the unsealing order, the United States District Court of New Jersey, 3rd circuit, issued a detention order next year on 22 January. The same day, the police arrested Laura. Since then, she appeared before the judge on five hearings. The hearing on 30 May was for the order to continue, ends of justice.

Then the bond procedure began on 15 July, which ended after two days. The court allowed her a release on bond. The exact details of the subject remain a mystery.

On 25 March 2021, the court issued the notice for another hearing, which took place on 12 November 2021.
