Vernita Lee is Oprah Winfrey’s mother. She was born in May 2, 1935 and raised in Wisconsin, United States and died in May.

Vernita Lee died old. She spent a good chunk of her time with the family, her children especially. She helped with volunteer work and  did a mix of jobs during her youth. She loved to spend time with Oprah and her siblings, friends and other members of the extended family. Very little information can be gathered about all the parts of her work-life but several news posts and articles talk about how much she enjoyed family, her church and life.

Her children are Patricia Lofton, Oprah Winfrey, Pat Lee Lloyd and Pat Lee Lofton. The children bore a number of grandchildren except for Oprah Winfrey who has no biological children yet. I guess It’s clear she may not know so much about how to be a mother as her mother was.
