Baum, who has been identified as the shooter, shot Curtis James Jackson, better known by his stage name, 50 Cent. 

On May 24, 2000, 50 Cent was brutally shot nine times in front of his grandmother’s house.

Three weeks after the attack on the American rapper, Baum died from wounds that he suffered on June 10, 2000.

50 Cent was shot in the hands, hips, legs, arms, left cheek, and chest with a 9mm handgun outside his grandmother’s home. Curtis was in the hospital for 13 days, and it took him another five months to fully recover.

On July 19, 2005, as per a press release from the US Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York, three people were charged with Baum’s murder.

Damion Hardy, Eric Moore, and Zareh Sarkissian were their names.

Hardy was also one of three men accused of assassinating Baum’s brother, Tyrone.

The murder occurred at Reid Avenue and Hancock Street in Brooklyn, at a construction site.

Dwayne Meyers and Abubakr Abdur Raheem were the other two people charged with the crime.
