As he is most known for Chicago P.D ., his enthusiastic fans flooded the internet asking the question ‘ Is Elias Koteas dead?’ after his character was killed off on its fifth season. Well, he is clearly now dead and is currently involved in his upcoming projects.

However, as it turns out, the decision to write Olinsky off the show was not one made by Koteas. Following Koteas’s exit from the show back in 2018, showrunner Rick Eid told TVLine that the decision to kill off Olinsky was one the creative team came to which led to Koteas’s exit from the show.
Although it is possible that Chicago PD could find a way to bring Elias Koteas back as Alvin Olinsky, there does not appear to be any plans for Koteas to return to the show and it seems highly unlikely he’ll return anytime soon.

Actor. Years active. 1985–present. Elias Koteas ( Greek: Ηλίας Κοτέας; born March 11, 1961) is a Canadian actor. He is best known for acting in either supporting or leading roles in films from the United States and Canada.
Koteas has played major roles in Some Kind of Wonderful (1987), The Adjuster (1991), Exotica (1994), Crash (1996), Fallen (1998), and The Thin Red Line (1998), among other films. Koteas is also known for playing the lead role of Thomas Daggett in the American film The Prophecy (1995) and for portraying sports-crazed vigilante Casey Jones in two of the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles films. In 2010, he played major roles in Let Me In and Defendor, a Canadian superhero film starring Woody Harrelson.
Early life. Koteas was born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, to a father who worked as a mechanic for the Canadian National Railways and a milliner mother. His parents are both of Greek descent. Koteas is a graduate of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York as well as Vanier College in Montreal.
