Andrew Putnam became professional in 2011, and in 2012 he competed on the eGolf Professional Tour.

He debuted on the Web.com Tour in 2013 and finished 49th on the money list, which was insufficient to earn him a PGA Tour card.

Putnam won his first professional tournament in April 2014, at the WNB Golf Classic on the Web.com Tour.

Putnam won his first PGA Tour tournament, the Barracuda Championship, in August 2018 near Reno, Nevada. He earned $2,387,382 and concluded the 2017-18 PGA Tour season with 5 Top 10 finishes. He finished 35th in the FedEx Cup, which lasted the entire season.
