Adam Buchanan Murder: Where Is Killer Son Nolen Buchanan Now?

Nolen Buchanan is currently in prison, serving 150 years for murdering his family.

There were missing reports of 38-year-old Adam Buchanan, his fiancé, 37-year-old Molly McAfee, and their son, 8-year-old Gavin Buchanan, on 13 September 2015. It came after a fire at the Buchanan vacation cabin.

Investigators found the remains of those absent people in the cabin. Further, the forensic reports suggested the suspect shot them with a .22 caliber rifle before incinerating them.

On 30 September, El Dorado County Sheriff John D’Agostini announced the arrest of Adam’s 16-year-old son, Nolan, from his high school in Benicia, California. As per the District Attorney, the court charged him with three murders as an adult.

His conviction took place on 13 June 2018. Likewise, he received a sentence of 150 years in imprisonment, with a parole possibility after 25 years.

As for the motive, reports suggest that Nolen wanted to get his hands on his father’s construction company, where Molly was an office manager. At the trial, he tried to pin the entire blame on his father.

The investigation quickly ended after students, during a cleanup effort, found a purse containing Adam’s ID card and a rifle. The proximity of the evidence so found allowed the officials to get a search warrant of the family business.

Further, Nolen’s initial statement about his father going to the cabin with a Dodge pickup turned out to be false as the surveillance footage showed him with an F-150. Nolen’s claims, the head of the Buchanan construction, led to more suspicion.
