On November 27th, 2023, Taylor Swift announced that The Eras Tour would soon be available on VOD (video on demand) for home viewing. The release date will be a sort of reverse birthday gift to her fans, as the movie will be available on December 13th, 2023 — Taylor’s 34th birthday.

On February 7th, 2024, Taylor’s team came out with a major update for fans who want to watch the movie from home. As part of a deal with Disney Plus, who previously released the film Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions, Swift’s latest cinematic outing is heading for the streaming service, starting March 15th.

According to Variety, the Disney Plus version of The Eras Tour will include four bonus songs that were not included in the theatrical cut that was previously available on VOD. These songs will likely be “Death by a Thousand Cuts,” “Maroon,” “You Are in Love” and “I Can See You,” according to the outlet.

Where can I watch Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour outside of Disney Plus?

Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour can be purchased for home viewing on all major movie streaming services that offer in-app purchases. These include Amazon Prime, Google Play, YouTube, Vudu, and more.

Be warned, however — the film is currently available on rental only, and it currently cannot be permanently purchased or bought in a physical version, like a DVD or Blu-ray. This, however, could change in the future, as rental-only movies are rare.

It is also of note that the non-Disney Plus version of The Eras Tour is the theatrical release, which is not the extended edition Disney has the exclusive rights to. This version is slightly shorter, with iconic tour songs like “Cardigan” not included.

As popularized during the COVID-19 Pandemic, it is common for movies to be available both in theaters and for home viewing at the same time. So far, there have been no announcements about the film being removed from cinemas.
