The gruesome murder that left the victim with a gunshot hole and multiple stab wounds as he lay in a pool of his own blood has not yet been explained by detectives.

The victim, the coroner concluded, had been shot multiple times, including in the head and the torso.
He seemed to have many stab wounds to the abdomen, as reported by FOX 13.
Police went to McCaw’s home at 9:30 a.m. on September 1 to check on his well-being after he hadn’t shown up for work for four days. They found his abandoned vehicle near Millersylvania State Park, complete with blood stains and a smashed cellphone on the floor.
Once there, the deputies reportedly smelt what they thought was a decaying body and saw a German shepherd dash through the house and out the back doggy door.
A window in the laundry room provided rapid entry for the sheriff’s deputies.
When police officers entered the building, they found McCaw dead on the floor, suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.
