Matt Araiza Lawsuit Amid Age Consent And Gang Assault

A civil action was submitted on Thursday in San Diego County Superior Court alleging that Buffalo Bulls rookie Matt Araiza participated in the gang-rape of a juvenile last year while attending San Diego State University.

The report claims that Araiza had sex with a drunken 17-year-old high school senior outside of an off-campus party before bringing her inside a room and allegedly assaulting her for an hour and a half with multiple men, including at least one player who is currently listed on the San Diego State football roster.

After leaving the bedroom, bloodied and crying, the youngster allegedly told her companions that she had been raped. She informed the San Diego Police Department the following day and went through a rape examination at a children’s hospital.

There have been no detentions. San Diego police have not made any suspects publicly known. According to an article in the San Diego County district attorney’s office, the district attorney’s office just received the detectives’ inquiry in order to decide whether or not charges should be brought.

The kid, who is now 18 years old, expressed disappointment in how the police and the institution responded to the incident. The teen’s father continued, calling it “absolutely ridiculous” that the institution took so long to open its own inquiry or even alert the SDSU community.
