Martin Kemp and Gary Kemp were born to Frank and Eileen Kemp. Frank Kemp was a former printer who passed away in 2009 at the age of 79, and his wife Eileen Kemp was a seamstress and school dinner lady who passed away 48 hours later at the age of 77.

The brothers have spoken in the past of their modest upbringing and the strong influence their parents have had on their lives.
