Dane Evans plans to follow in his footsteps as a coach after retiring from his playing career. Damon Evans, his father, is an assistant coach at Arlington Lamar High School in Texas. He also coached his son when he was in school. 

He started his football career by playing for college, Tulsa Golden Hurricane. Additionally, he has also been a member of the Philadelphia Eagles. Evans earned the rank eighth among NCAA Division I FBS quarterbacks in the passing yardage. 

Father-Son Duo Dane Evans And Damon Evans 

Damon Evans was father to his son both on and off the field. Damon introduced his son to football and coached him while he was in school from grade 8 to grade 12. The father-son duo went through a roller-coaster ride at times during the years, but they made it work. 

Damon once revealed this during the early years of coaching. He was tough on his son, which certainly dented their relationship. He noticed the bad air and talked to some other guys who have been coaching their sons.

Damon then sat with his son and let him know he was treating him like everybody else on the team. He then tells Dane that he will be his dad after they reach home. With time Damon learned to balance out coaching and fatherhood simultaneously. 

Nevertheless, Damons’ coaching and Dane’s hard work have brought him here. He is super proud of his son, and as a father, he always believed in Dane’s abilities. 

On the other hand, Dane says his dad is a super organized dad and a coach. While he scrutinizes Dane as a coach before the game, he also cheers for his son. 

Meet Dane Evans Parents

On November 19, 1993, Dane Evans was born to his parent Damon Evans and Kathy Evans. Dane started learning football at a young age from his coach father. He shares a strong bond with his dad, who had coached him during his school years. 

The athlete says his dad is “a great guy and great dude.” He remembers as a child. He used to stand on the door waiting for his father to come home so that they could play catch. Aside from football and coaching, Dane enjoyed vacations, watching movies, and more with his mom and dad. 

Dane is looking forward to coaching just like his father after retiring from his playing career. 

Inside The Dane Evans Family 

Dane Evans is married to his wife, Nikki (Poki) Evans. The couple celebrated their second marriage anniversary on April 20, 2021. Evans asked her to be his wife in March 2018 in Hawaii. They read their big day vows a year later in 2019 in the presence of their family and friends. 

Nikki, who recently turned 27 years old, owns her business named Charcutgo. A Canadian football quarterback player’s wife started her startup not long ago. Nikki graduated from The University of Tulas in 2018, just two months after Dane proposed marrying him. 

Dane and Nikki have their family dog together, named Murph.
