She was born in July 1967 in Shropshire, as per her Wikipedia. 

Beddoes attended Moreton Hall School in Oswestry and went to Oxford University to pursue an undergraduate degree in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics at St Hilda’s College. 

She was a Kennedy Scholar at Harvard University from 1989 to 1990, earning a master’s degree and having her scholarship renewed for another year.

After graduating, Zanny got hired as an adviser to Poland’s Minister of Finance in 1992. She became a reporter for The Economist in 1994 because of her efforts.

In 1996, she got promoted to Economics editor, where she oversaw global economics coverage from Washington, DC. 

Later, Beddos got upgraded to Business Affairs editor, where she was in charge of the business, finance, and science. 

On February 2, 2015, she became the 17th and first female editor-in-chief of the magazine.

 Zanny Minton Beddoes’s husband, Sebastian Mallaby, is an English journalist and author.
