David Crosby, a well-known folk-rock performer, died at the age of 81.

Future musicians were given a foothold by the freak-folk sound of the artist who created The Byrds and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for both bands in the 1990s.

After passing away on January 19, David Crosby is survived by his wife, Jan Dance, and a number of children.
