Ismail Haniyeh was born on 29 January 1962 to Palestinian Arab parents whose names are still undisclosed. His father was a fisherman. Ismali’s full name is Ismail Abdel Salam Ahmed Haniyeh. 

Haniyeh has four siblings: Suhila Abd El-Salam Ahmed Haniyeh, Sabah Haniyeh, Kholidia Haniyeh and Laila Haniyeh. 

Likewise, his sisters Kholidia, Laila and Sabah are Israeli citizens and currently reside in the Bedouin town of Tel as-Sabi in southern Israel. 

As per the sources, Kholodia first moved to Tel as-Sabi, and later two of her two sisters followed.
