John Cho is an American actor. Yohan Cho was born in Seoul and grew up in Los Angeles, California.

His father was a pastor of the Christian faith. Cho attended Herbert Hoover High School in Glendale before attending the University of California, Berkeley, where he majored in English literature.

Cho also appeared in the Asian American–themed films Shopping for Fangs, Yellow, and Better Luck Tomorrow early in his career.

He is best known for playing Harold Lee in the Harold & Kumar movie and Hikaru Sulu in the Star Trek reboot film series.
