On August 2, at around 1.05 am, Santa Monica Police Department officers acted upon a hit and run case in Santa Monica. The police officers took the male victim to a local hospital who later died due to severe injuries.

Police officers found that Nicholas Ralph Sloan was asked to leave the restaurant staff to leave Busby’s Restaurant, the evening of the incident at approximately 1 am.

Investigators think that Nicholas intentionally tried to hit the patron but hit the victim.  Witnesses said that they saw Sloan’s vehicle traveling eastbound on Santa Monica Boulevard.

Later, his vehicle was stopped by a California Highway officer for speeding and was taken into custody by Santa Monica PD detectives.

Moreover,  the Los Angeles District Attorney’s has set Nicholas bail for $2 million.
