Who is Tinsley Mortimer husband Robert Livingston Mortimer?
They were both teenage students at a boarding school in Lawrenceville, New Jersey when Topper and Tinsley first met. When they became 18, Topper and Tinsley fled to get married in Bradenton, Florida by a justice of the peace. She was a senior and he was a junior. Topper’s father learned about it, though, and immediately rushed his son to the Dominican Republic to have it nullified. Their young love, however, persisted.
While Topper completed his education in Lawrenceville, Tinsley studied at the University of North Carolina. But Topper transferred to Columbia University after deciding to enroll at New York University. Topper joined the wealth management company Guggenheim Partners in New York City after graduating, while Tinsley alternated between working as a publicist at Harrison & Shriftman and interning at Vogue, Cooper-Hewitt Museum, and the master’s program in decorative arts. At St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Richmond, Virginia, the bride’s hometown, the pair was formally wed in May 2002.
