Starz renewed “Outlander” for Season 5 and Season 6 at the same time. That means that fans can rest assured that even if Sunday’s season finale ends with a major cliffhanger for Jamie and Claire, they’ll be back eventually.

Who is the actress in Outlander?

As producers, Heughan and Claire actress Caitriona Balfe get early access to scripts. The Scottish actor said in March that he’d already read the script for the Season 6 premiere and was very excited about it. Fans will have to wait for Season 6, but the “Outlander” Season 5 finale airs Sunday on Starz.

The finale will pick up with Claire, who was captured at the end of last week’s episode. Jamie, of course, will go after his wife, and it looks like the struggle will be intense. In the trailer, Jamie says, in part, “I have lived through war and lost much. I know what’s worth a fight.

When they will return, however, is unknown. The global pandemic is pushing their planned start date.

Jamie Fraser actor Sam Heughan, who also became an executive producer this season, revealed that they were supposed to be in production right now, but they’re currently delaying “Outlander” Season 6 production until the fall. When will Outlander season 6 be released?

There’s plenty more Outlander to come and once lockdown is lifted, season six can begin filming and could be released in 2021.

Gabaldon went on to say about how she grew her Outlander series, saying: “I began thinking – one problem with my books in terms of sales is that you cannot describe them to anyone. “As my first editor said, ‘ These are going to have to be word-of-mouth books because you can’t describe them to anyone.’.

OUTLANDER is still going strong and shows no signs of stopping since launching in 2014. The series is an adaptation of Diana Gabaldon’s best-selling novel series.

Starz also confirmed earlier this year its plans to roll out a raft of Outlander content based on the world created by Gabaldon, which could include a Lord John series based on the novellas and short stories she’s previously penned.
