The Franklin County Sheriff’s Department has launched an investigation into the untimely death of country legend Naomi Judd.

Just two days prior, Wynonna and Ashley Judd had confirmed their mother’s death at the age of 76 on social media.

In her 2016 book River of Time: My Descent into Depression and How I Emerged With Hope, Naomi Judd, an outspoken advocate for mental health, opened up about her struggles with suicidal depression.

During Mental Health Awareness Week in 2018, she also wrote an open letter about suicide.

Wynonna, 57, and Ashley, 54, paid tribute to their mother, who rose to prominence as one half of The Judds, at the Country Music Hall of Fame induction ceremony in Nаshville on Sundаy, Mаy 1.

The country duo was formed by Naomi and her eldest daughter in 1983, but they left in the early 1990s to pursue other interests.
