Massachusetts woman named as victim in Sunday night hit-and-run crash in Springfield after Yaseri Cortes car accident

On Sunday night in Springfield, a two-car crash claimed the life of 20-year-old Cortes.

According to reports, Cortes was operating a vehicle on Interstate 91 near Exit 48 in Springfield when another vehicle collided with Cortes’ and caused it to crash.

The second suspect vehicle then drove off from the scene at 10:30 on Sunday night.

Cortes was declared dead at the scene from blunt force trauma injuries.

The accident’s root cause is still being looked at.
