The Plateaus also starred her, alongside actors such as Elisha Cuthbert and Sam Roberts.
Murphy later starred as Allison McRoberts in the AMC dark comedy series Kevin Can F**k Himself (2021-2022). Her character in the series was a typical sitcom wife who tried to get away from her reality.

Personal LifeAnnie Murphy is married to musician Menno Versteeg since August 20, 2011. Versteeg is best known as the lead singer of the indie rock band Hollerado and the supergroup Anyway Gang.
In 2013, Murphy and her husband lost their house and almost all their belongings in a massive fire, though they escaped unhurt. After this tragedy, Murphy had just $3 left in her bank account and had decided to quit acting altogether. Fortunately, she bagged the role of Alexis in Schitt’s Creek in an audition soon after.
Murphy has often spoken about her struggle with mental health issues. In January 2020, she was highly depressed while attending the farewell tour of Schitt’s Creek. Her mental health condition made it difficult for her to perform.
Her depression worsened during the COVID-19 lockdown in March 2020. She eventually sought help from a therapist and took antidepressants to control her condition.
She has also spoken about being on contraceptive pills since 16, which she believes caused her major mood swings.
