Terrence Dashon Howard is an American actor.

He was born on March 11, 1969, in Chicago, Illinois, US.

His first major parts were in the 1995 films Dead Presidents and Mr. Holland’s Opus. Howard emerged into the mainstream with a succession of television and cinema roles between 2004 and 2006. For his part in Hustle & Flow, he was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor.

Howard has had prominent roles in many other movies, including Ray, Winnie Mandela, Lackawanna Blues, Crash, Big Momma’s House, Four Brothers,  Get Rich or Die Tryin’, Idlewild, Biker Boyz, August Rush, The Brave One, and Prisoners. 

He announced his retirement from acting in September 2019 because he was “tired of pretending”. However, it was announced that he would star in the British sci-fi/thriller film Beneath on February 1, 2021.

When Terrence was just two years old, Terrence witnessed his father, 21 years old Tyron killing a man while waiting in a Clevland, Ohio department store in 1971 which resulted in Tyron’s imprisonment. He divorcedTerrence’s mother right after his release from jail.

After that, his mother married Robert Williams till her death. She died from colon cancer which she was fighting for a long time.

In 1993, Howard married his first wife, Lori McCommas. They divorced in 2001, remarried in 2005, and then divorced again in 2007. It has been reported Terrence repeatedly abused and threatened her serval times. He was charged with domestic violence in 2002. They have 3 children together: son Hunter, and daughters Aubrey and Heaven.

Howard wed his second wife, Michelle Ghent, in 2010. She also faced domestic abuse from him. Besides filing a divorce, Ghent also acquired a restraining order against her husband and their divorce was finalized in May 2013.

Howard married Mira Pak, a model, and restaurateur, in late 2013. They have two sons, Qirin and Hero. They got divorced in July 2015, but in September 2015, they began dating again.
