Sexual abuse allegations against Michael Jackson are the subject of a new HBO documentary currently showing at the Sundance Film Festival. Leaving Neverland is leaving viewers sick and some report they aren’t sure if they can handle seeing the full movie. On Friday, January 25, 2019, social media was rife with complaints and comments suggesting that the allegations made by Wade Robson and Jimmy Safechuck were credible and believable.

Both Wade Robson and Jimmy Safechuck state they were groomed by Jackson who gained their families’ trust before beginning on-going sexual abuse. Not only has the film sparked harsh reactions from those who’ve viewed it, but it’s also resulted in controversy with Jackson’s fans who say the movie is defamatory, false, and perpetuates allegations against Jackson that he was cleared of in a court of law.

Some fans are so upset with the movie they are protesting it and refusing to attend Sundance.

Wade Robson spoke to TMZ and stated that the movie wasn’t about portraying Michael Jackson in a negative light, but to give voice to victims of child sexual abuse.

Leaving Neverland is four hours long, and many of the responses from those who’ve seen it have said that after two hours, they don’t believe they can handle more of the film.

Jackson is portrayed as a serial, child predator and though the accusations against Jackson have been around for decades, the movie is said to show home photos that point to the most credible evidence of Jackson’s inappropriate behavior to date.

The photographs combined with Wade Robson’s and Jimmy Safechuck’s testimonies have resulted in many people publicly stating they have changed their minds about Jackson.

Many are walking away convinced that the King of Pop truly was a child sexual predator. Some have actually said the documentary not only convinces people Michael Jackson was a pedophile but proves that he was.
