According to recent reports Marcus Martinez has passed away unexpectedly leaving family in a great shock.

The official announcement of his passing came on Friday, August 4, 2023. His untimely death shocked and devastated her loved ones, who would continue to grieve her for all time.

The Hoosick Falls community was saddened by the sudden departure of Dr. Marcus Martinez, and so was the North Hoosick Fire Department.

According to reports, he died after a protracted battle with cancer. He has been a great inspiration to many people he has known over his life. In our neighbourhood and beyond, he has without a doubt gone above and beyond for many families.

Respected family doctor Dr. Marcus Martinez was instrumental in identifying hazardous contamination in his small town’s water resources.

He lost his brave nine-year battle against a rare cancer on Thursday. Martinez, now 51 years old, attended Hoosick Falls High School before taking over his father Phillip’s medical practise, which was in operation from 1956 until 1999.

Martinez treated almost 5,000 patients and obtained firsthand knowledge of rare illnesses that worried him and his father.

The first Marcus Martinez Community Day, a commemoration of his advocacy work, was held in May at a nearby country club. Lt. Gov. Antonio Delgado thanked Martinez for his commitment to securing clean water for everybody and praised his long-lasting influence on both present and future generations.

Charles E. Schumer, the majority leader in the U.S. Senate, also praised Martinez for his bravery. Martinez told Schumer about the Hoosick Falls incident during a meeting in February 2016, according to Schumer’s account.

In order to force responsible businesses to address the problem and set safer drinking water standards for perfluorinated chemicals, Schumer pledged to work to have the area designated as a Superfund site by the US Environmental Protection Agency.
