Biography:

Mira Sorvino was born on September 28, 1967 in Tenafly, New Jersey, USA. She attended Harvard University where she graduated magna cum laude in East Asian Studies in 1989.

In 1993, she landed the leading role of Laura in the film Amongst Friends, which gained positive reviews.

After small parts in the films Quiz Show and Barcelona, she starred in Woody Allen’s Mighty Aphrodite, for which she won an Academy Award and Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress.

She also starred in the television films Norma Jean & Marilyn and Human Trafficking, for which she received Emmy and Golden Globe nominations.
