Kandi Burruss has writing credits on Ariana Grande’s song, Break Up with Your Girlfriend, I’m Bored (interpolation of “It Makes Me Ill” by N’Sync). Kandi co-wrote the single “Tell Me No,” for Whitney Houston alongside Babyface, Annie Roboff and Holly Lamar.

Kandi Burruss became the first African-American woman to win the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers’ Songwriter of the Year award in 2000, in the Rhythm & Soul category. In 2000, Kandi was awarded a Grammy Award for Best R&B Song for her writing contributions to the TLC hit song “No Scrubs”.
